Sweet Pea came to New Hope 200 pounds underweight. She is a wonderfully sweet thoroughbred who did not make it as a racehorse; her pace is slow and steady. She was donated to New Hope due to stifle joint (it’s akin to the human knee) issues that made jumping inappropriate for her. We are working to get her up to weight and then will work on desensitizing before she starts work in the program. She will be a wonderful addition to the independent rider program and to balanced riders who need a leader or spotter.
