Wednesday is when the activities slow down. With the exception of the New Hope riders who haven’t ridden the trail course, the events involving New Hope riders are after lunch. After lunch, following Ranch Riding, were Barrels and Poles. For New Hope supporters who have been there both days, it’s a long day. But the joy on the riders’ faces “washes the blues away.”

The day was suddenly brightened by Rain (pictured to the left with Ella) being awarded Reserve Horse of the Year for Chisholm Challenge 2025. The judges had observed her in the paddocks as well as the arenas. She and Ava had just finished riding the trail course when we were told to get to John Justin from Will Rogers. After the awards ceremony – and Ranch Riding – she and Ava performed in Barrels and Polls. So Rain certainly came by the award honestly.

Ride on and ride for hope.
