As alluded to in a previous post, we are getting excited about Chisholm Challenge. Of course we are, individually – family-wise – getting excited about Christmas and the holidays. But each day, while closer to Christmas, is also a day closer to Chisholm Challenge (CC). It’s such an exciting time that we’ve been looking forward to CC 2025 since CC 2024, when we had the luncheon to pass out the ribbons and buckles from this year’s event in January.

This coming January, Chisholm Challenge will be the 13th (Monday) to the 15th (Wednesday). As I have mentioned before, it is the unofficial beginning of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo (FWSSR), which opens that Friday. The FWSSR donates the use of John Justin Arena and other amenities to Chisholm Challenge. Which makes parking and attending the events free of charge. It is simply necessary to be aware of other vehicles who are setting up early for the stock show and rodeo.

As intense as the experience is, staff and volunteers alike look forward to Chisholm. It begins on Sunday, with staff and assorted volunteers taking some of the horses to the designated paddocks and making them comfortable. It is not uncommon for Susan to stay in Ft. Worth Sunday night in preparation for bringing the rest of the New Hope horses that will be competing in Chisholm Challenge on Monday.

Stay tuned for Monday’s activities and other stories about Chisholm Challenge. Meanwhile, mark your calendar! Make plans to come out to watch the riders in support for their hard work. You won’t be disappointed. You can also donate to New Hope to help cover the expenses for the riders to compete.

Ride on and ride for hope.

Donate to New Hope.
