I usually just do just one volunteer per highlight, but I haven’t highlighted a couple before. Thanks to Sarah and Jim for all they do for New Hope!

What brought you to New Hope to volunteer?
When I moved back to Texas, I wanted to find a place to volunteer with my daughter. I saw New Hope pop up on Facebook and decided that would be the one. That was in 2016 (possibly 2015 :)).
Tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up in Houston, but I also lived in Utah, where I got an opportunity to be around. and work with, horses. I have two amazing children, both of whom have volunteered at New Hope. I love working with people to see them succeeding in their goals and bringing them happiness.
Favorite horse?
I don’t have a favorite. All are unique and very special.
Favorite part of volunteering at New Hope?
Getting to share in the exciting moments of achievement for the riders. When the riders complete a task that they never thought they could do and seeing their joy is heart warming. And I love making lasting friendships with the other volunteers.
How has volunteering affected you?
It has shown me my “why” in life. The deeper core “why,” which is to help people realize their worth, potential and truly inspire through service to others.

Tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up in a small town in Illinois. I trained and broke cutting horses for decades.
Favorite horse?
It’s kind of hard to have a favorite. They all have their own deals.
Favorite part of volunteering at New Hope?
Working with the kids.
How has volunteering affected you?
It makes me more patient with others.
