Kimberly’s lessons are on Saturdays and her riders love her. When it was too hot for lessons in the summer, Kimberly would meet Cyndy at New Hope on Thursdays to rinse off the horses to cool them down.
What brought you to New Hope to be an instructor?
I was introduced to New Hope by my Daughter. Her vet class from UNT went on a class visit to New Hope and she told me all about it and that I should go there and find out more about it. Eight years later I am still here!

Tell us a little about yourself.
I am originally from the Midwest and have been in Texas for 12 yrs. I have two children I am very close with and proud of. I love all animals but especially adore horses and dogs. I started riding and showing at about 13 yrs old and have loved anything to do with horses ever since.
Favorite horse?
This is a hard question because I adore them all. They all have their own personalities and quirks that we love about them but I would have to say that Flash is my favorite. Flash is beautiful and has a kind soul. He is so gentle with the kids and truly pays attention to their voice and the communication the kids provide to him (voice, rein usage, leg pressure). He also loves to be brushed, scratched, shown affection, and given treats.
Favorite part of leading equine therapy lessons at NH?
My favorite part of leading lessons at New Hope is getting to see all the smiles from all our riders and getting to work with such an amazing group of volunteers and the other equine teachers. To see a rider’s boost in self confidence or to see them overcome a challenge makes me happy and is very rewarding to me. I am blessed to be part of such a wonderful program and part of such an amazing team!
How has leading lessons affected you?
Leading lessons at New Hope has made me feel part of something so much bigger than myself. To do something I am very passionate about and have it benefit children, adults, and the horses, physically and mentally, is very meaningful to me.
Ride on and ride for hope.
