I was taking pictures the night Madeline went through orientation. During orientation, one can get a sense of which potential volunteers will actually follow through and sign up for lessons. I had no doubt Madeline was earnest in her desire to volunteer. I was not wrong. She is cognizant of the riders needs due to her history. And the riders appreciate it. In her own words…

What brought you to New Hope to volunteer?

I used to work with kiddos with Autism and really missed that as a part of my life. I’ve never worked with horses, but have always had a passion for animals. I found New Hope and thought I would give it a try!

Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Madeline! I’m 25 and currently work part-time as a therapist. Aside from New Hope, one of my favorite hobbies is rock climbing.

Favorite horse?

I love Rain!

Favorite part of volunteering at NH?  How has volunteering affected you?

It’s been really amazing to watch these kids learn through the horses – you can really tell they love it!

For me, it gives me confidence to see these kids willing to take on new challenges!

Ride on and ride for hope.
