Using the theme for the New Hope Gala, – “And they’re off!” – the beginning of the season’s lessons kicked into full force last Saturday, September 7. Due to the rain the first of that week, Saturday was “opening day.” The current riders enjoyed starting back up after the summer. The two new instructors and a few new riders made Saturday all that more special. In addition, the volunteers were glad to be back in action.
Traffic kept me from getting to New Hope in time to meet the new instructor, Courtney Landry (look for

a future post). Kimberly, who has been the Saturday instructor for some time, and Torunn, instructor-in-training are pictured to the right.
Despite this being the first full Saturday with additional riders and instructors, everything ran rather smoother than expected. The beautiful weather didn’t hurt. Even the horses enjoyed themselves, being gentle and understanding with the new riders.

Ride on and ride for hope.
